“Very relaxing to put together albeit a little tedious when assembling the branches, but as a stress relieving activity, very helpful. The final product is absolutely stunning!”
“There is an indescribable joy felt universally when building with Lego. Perhaps it is the recapturing of one’s childhood from when building a Lego set seemed like the most impossible task to complete. Maybe it’s just the fact that when you’ve finished building, you really feel that you’ve accomplished something. After I finish the occasional Lego set, I feel fulfilled. In awe, almost. “I built this beautiful creation” I often think to myself. The shapes of the Lego leaves are repetitive but when staggered, they can form really unexpected and frankly stunning representations of authentic, natura leaf formations. The way that the brown pieces of the trunk wrap around to form the twisted likeness of the real-life counterpart is extremely impressive. As per usual with Lego, my only complaint would be the price point at $49.99, but the set will continue to bring me joy until I decide to take it apart. The designers of this specific set should be extremely proud of themselves for capturing the natural beauty of a Bonsai tree through a medium with such limited access to color and shapes. In many ways, a plastic Bonsai is preferred to a real one because of how much less effort it takes to maintain. The art of keeping a bonsai is a wonderfully complex skill to have that takes much patience and precision. That being said, I think I’ll stick to my roots and instead care after my little Lego Bonsai tree.”
