“This was a gift for our granddaughter. She likes LEGO, but especially likes the sets that build stores and houses and little cities and so on. We thought we'd try this and it was well received. Good quality. Buildings are pretty clever, and recognizable, approximations of the real thing. It has a grown-up architecture! feel instead of being a playset. Instructions were the usual LEGO clear/confusing mix, but the project was manageable and satisfying. This was an appealing change up from the usual LEGO offerings, both in terms of the subject and the design of the specialty pieces. LEGO Statue of Liberty is so creepy I would have been tempted to give it back to France, but I give LEGO points for trying. There are other interesting Architecture sets, so there's an opportunity for a few more birthday or holiday presents here if it goes over well with the recipient. (The Guggenheim looks especially cool.)”
