It worked well for the models it would sit on. If the spring/wires were a little shorter and stiffer, it would be a better tool for small to medium sized aircraft modelers. The pad size is good and the two scales for measuring deflection are good. Good product and not looking to modify it. Worth the price. My opinion...

The BenchCraft Control Surface Meter works as advertised and expected. It's nice to be able to easily see the amount of travel in my control surfaces when setting up rates before making the maiden flight!

I have one of these that was made by Great Plane back in the day. Simple, but works well. This one from Motion Rc looks to be very similar and should work just as well.

Very helpful for insuring correct control surface deflection, especially insuring the ailerons are equal.

The control surface deflection can be used very well to adjust the ailerons. In my case and I think in other cases too, the meter can not be used when adjusting elevators and rudders.

I’ve used this after picking it up at the Warehouse for 3 planes now of various brand planes and types. I used it to check my high rates and low rates and it’s made flexible enough that you can get it on the foam wings without damage and sturdy enough that it stays put to get a good measurement. I also like to point out that it’s got mm on one side and inches in fractions on the other. If it’s flexing to much you can always give it a hand and hold it at the zero and grab your measurement . About as easy and simple setup as can be and grab a practical measurement. Price is not too bad for what you get ! I would get this same tool again!
