The Black Horse HE-111 1750mm (68.9") assembly was straightforward. That said, I would not recommend this bird as a 1st ARF. So far 5 Flights on my Black Horse HE-111 and she flies great! Very stable in the air. Build Notes: it takes a lot of trimming and sanding on the fiberglass parts to get them to fit properly. The tail wheel provided was not fitting for this scale bird, I opted for a modified Dubro / 3d printed option Setup -- Flightline TA-152 power system, Two 4s 5000mah, Hitec 5085mg servos, AR10100T receiver. With this set up it took 3 oz of lead in the nose under the cockpit floor to achieve CG.

The build quality of this is great. I had no trouble assembling it whatsoever. Very easy to put together; everything fits straightforward. My only two suggestions are:Purchase the landing gear from the 80mm A10, because the one that comes with the kid is not that great. I struggled with it. Secondly, (IMO) get a slightly more powerful engine setup then what is suggested. I have mine massively overpowered with two 5065 800kv motors, 100A Avian ESCs, 2 x 4000mah 6S on a pair of 10x12s, and it flies great. Stupid fast. Extremely stable & solid in flight. Easy to land, and it looks so good in the sky.

Haven’t started yet but quality is differently there, very impressed with the fit and finish, it would be a nice addition to include the retracts

The airplane flies very well. It does not have any bad tendencies during takeoff, landing or flying. The only issue I experienced initially was with the landing gear. The struts are pointing out and the wheels are also pointing out. Also the tires were rubbing against the struts. The tail wheel is too small so I replaced it with a bigger wheel. All of this makes the airplane difficult to control on the ground during takeoff (unless you are flying off the grass). I modified the angle of the struts, and the angle of the wheels. I added spacers or 3 mm washers to provide clearance between the tire and the strut. Now it trucks on the ground very well. I had at least 50 landings on this airplane and did not put a scratch on it. I would not fly it on 3 cell LiPo as Motion RC recommends. You need 4 cells with the motors recommended by Motion-RC. On a 3-cell LiPo it flies very slow.

Well I finally got around to building this model. Almost a Year from when I purchased it. Model went together with no real issues. I upgraded the landing gear with the 80mm A-10 trailing link main gear and wheels. So a little modification to the wing, but very minor (mostly sanding with a Dremel). I also installed the P-38 motors, propellers, esc and spinners. Had to tweak the motor outward (away from the fuselage) slightly so the massive props would have clearance from the nose of the plane. Running one motor clockwise and the other counter clockwise. Which work great! Maiden came and went with no surprises. Few clicks of elevator and ailerons and the bird was lock in. Landings were close to perfect as they could be and the trailing link struts did there job. I was worried about prop strikes when the gear compressed. But no issues what so ever. Plane overall looks and flies awesome. Only 1 con: No guns in the kit. I will make some and install them myself. Glad I bought this model to add to my warbird collection.

Fast Delivery as always! Well packaged. Almost overkill, but I’m not complaining. This is my 1st Balsa kit. So I will be taking my time building this.

Am in the midst of assembling this plane. So far, I've hit a number of annoying problems that Ive been forced to deal with. Am glad Im an experienced builder and assembler. For the most part, the planes main sections go together without a hitch.....then comes the fun part....the motor and the retracts. (Grrrr)MOTORS: the spacers that attach the motor to the firewalls were 1/2 too short! Couldn't seat the spinner's backplates properly on the prop shaft until there was enough spacer length to push the motor out beyond the cowling. Resolved this by purchasing 1/2 hard nylon spacers at my local hardware store. Another annoying reality is that the wires from the esc meant for the Lipos aren't nearly long enough. Had to order extensions.....grrrrr.....RETRACTS: The wheels aren't scale look at all but will do their job. But thats not the REAL issue here.... it the bottom cowling. You will need to cut out the areas indicated (so the wheels can drop and retract) on these hard fiberglass parts. Very annoying. These should be properly cut out at the Viet Nam factory. Luckily I had a dremel with a saw blade to accomplish this. There is a real risk of cracking the fiberglass.....be very careful.Lastly, I hate the look of 2 blade propellers on this awesome bird. Makes it look like a toy. The real 111's had 3 blade props. This should be fixed at MRC with a 3 blade propeller/spinner option in the spare parts section. PLEASE!! Am trying to find a 3 blade/spinner solution. No luck yet.Like many other comments, haven't flown this yet and look forward to the maiden..... it IS a great looking plane and should fly like a floater. Its all wing.If you want this plane, you won't be disappointed in its look and manageable size. Cant speak for its flying, yet. Some of the assembly however will be a challenge.

great looking model sapurb covering with virtually all balsa construction (even the control surfaces) this is important for me as i've damaged balsa planes in the past from hanger rash with easy to puncture covering material.you wont damage this one in a hurry you cant with that balsa sheet construction.havent flown yet but should be a nice well behaved plane with the size of that wing area.iwas going to use the running gear off my crashed up flightline tigercat and see how it all comes together.(another great plane highly recommended.)bang for your buck you just wont beat it.RIP tigercat you served me well.take your time with the build it will be a process but a simple straight forward one i would think.
