This ARF is well built for an all balsa plane. I haven't built this yet but it looks detailed. The colour scheme is amazing! I'm expecting this to be a great plne to fly!

Awesome build! Easy set up, parts fit is very good, quality is outstanding. Just a few things I would suggest take your time setting up hinges, and control surfaces, don’t glue wheel wells in place use small screws for service on gear etc. all in all this jet performs!

Sorry for the lengthy review. I am currently deep into the build and I probably should have purchased the turbine Version. I will have at least $3000 into this build by the time Its done. I’d say definitely not a quick build because it requires a lot of know how. Which I lack from time to time. Overall a wonderful build from Vietnam. Everything matched up precisely. Nice job! My aftermarket parts include a JP 120 EDF paired with a Spektrum 160a ESC. Spektrum 12 channel receiver and HS645MG servos throughout. A word on these servos. They fit perfectly if not perfectly snug in the servo locations. I have used these servos before with no problems in other jets and hope they work in this Viper because of its size. As mentioned before by other reviewers, this jet is close to a 2 meters size and will definitely have a field presents. If that is what you are going for. I also plan on installing a Demon Cortex gyro in the nose. (Maybe overkill). I have used various Eagle Vs series Gyros in other airplanes and they are definitely an option. One last thing. I ended up purchasing the Turbine Viper gear set with breaks from another supplier and they are way better! The idea of watching this jet roll the length of the field without breaks is something I’d rather not mix with other turbine jet operators. Over all a beautiful airplane and a semi challenging build for an ARF. Another couple of “One last things.” Since they didn’t supply a thrust tube, I ended buying a sheet of .005” Mylar for $5 bucks and it should work well. Last of all a lighting system from unilight.at. The Medium sized jet lighting system fits perfectly in the wing cutouts. Well, best of luck to all!

First off the fuselage is very light a little concerned but should be okay. The recommended servos are going to need a longer Servo arm you can order them through motion RC.1 1/2 ". If you can find 1 1/4" those will work better. The cutout for the servo arms are a little funky but they work just fine I recommend regluing them and putting an extra screw in each one of the mounts for safety. I mounted the ESC right to the lower hatch which would put the ESC hobbywing 160 right underneath just in front of the EDF so should be great for cooling. I did use the air intakes but I cut them to make it a semi open ducted fan just a note the esc cooling things on the side of the jet are way too far back to do any good you can use those and make it a hole for the EDF to draw more air so it doesn't starve but they're not going to help the ESC and if I had known this I wouldn't have even used them I decided to use a Jet fan 110 with a hacker 790 KV motor due to the thrust diameter only being 99 mm in my opinion of 120 is too big for that hole it'll be more efficient with a 110 and probably more power I suggest putting your EDF and your thrust tube in before you put your air intakes in the fiberglass ones that come with the kit it'll make it a heck of a lot easier as I didn't and found out it was a pain in the butt but it is doable you do not get a Thrust tube so you can order some mylar for that thrust tube you'll need a 2 ft piece you won't use all of the two foot but you'll be safe having a 2 ft to be cut down the air intakes were kind of a pain they needed to be cut so they could be shoved in the air intake holes takes a little doing but they're doable word of advice run all your wiring before you even put in the EDF thrust tube or even the intakes and secure your server wires you will need extra wires for your retracts you do not want to use the one piece because you would have to thread him in every time you put the wings in so you can cut the ones down and you're still going to need more to add so you can plug them in where the rest of your alleron and flap wires plug in you'll have to modify the servo cover for the rudder as you will not get the proper throw that you need you will have to cut the servo slot a little bigger but not a big deal have fun with the 20 hours I have at least double that other than that everything goes together pretty good didn't see any problems with the build just a little tweaking here and there as every arf you have to do that too going to be a great flyer. One more word of advice make your servo arms as short as you possibly can get away with with the proper throw as the longer they are the less torque you'll have.

Haven't flown the Viper however it's built very well and especially impressive is the landing mounting points. I'm running a 12S power system in it. The fuselage has tons of room for batteries which is a plus.I think the price point really is good for the quality and size.I have purchased 10+ airplanes from Motion RC. Overall the customer service has been great. I will back for more.

This is a big model with a lot of presence. I like everything about it BUT there are a few annoyances. The servos covers/mounts and poorly designed and limit the throw of the servo and it doesn’t come with a thrust tube. Be prepared for a project !

Still building mine but I've seen it fly, it's really good. The instructions are great, however, it's definitely not 95% ready :) there is some serious modeling needed to get you where you want to be. And where is the trust tube? Kit doesn't come with one!! I only knocked off a star for that.
