“I will start with what I don't like.The esc is still water cooled but no provisions made for water cooling the PT. I would have expected this to be addressed after three years. The port forward Gun Barrel is bent and nearly impossible straighten and fit so loosely into the socket that I was afraid of it falling off while in motion, fixed that with a drop of Shoe Goo. There are absolutly no assembly instructructions or an reasonably useful information in instruction manual, if that is what you want to call it. The whip antenna did not even begin to fit its location due to inadequate hole size. I had to drill it myself to correct. the transmitter looks and feels cheap, but at least it works. This boat still ships with the incorrect grease in the shafts. During the bench test, the center shaft would not even turn under low load and caused the ESC to heat up rapidly. It was much too tight when turning it by hand. The center motor as a distinctive squeal at low speed. I added grease tube extensions and pumped / flushed almost a 1/4 tube of Dynamite Marine grease before I was comfortable that the existing grease had been removed. The aft gun does not fit securely to the base, but I have fixed that. The radar mast did not fit in any of the three mating holes, but was easily fixed. This is not a good fit for a novice and is not RTR.Now for the good:This boat came packaged well ,so nothing was broken. Shipping was also very quick. The detail on the boat is very good and it looks and performs well on the water. I live on a small private lake so water access is not a problem. Overall and having read the reviews and the forum, I knew what I was getting.As said, the detail and quality is excellent. Being a fiberglass hull was a major selling point for me. I wanted a vessel that I could expand on and this has proven to be a worthy addition.So far I have added movement to the fron gun, added a hatch for access to the rudder linkage with a servo to move the aft gun. I added navigation lights and the spot light now works. I also added water cooling for the ESC via a water pump that exhausts thru the mufflers to keep the ESC from overheating.Overall this was an excellent boat for my needs and I would recommend this for an experienced enthusiast.”

“This PT is the one I have always wanted. Nice scale and PERFECT for my small pond. Nice detail on the big 40mm stern gun an good detail on the rest of the ship. I am not a super detail guy and so I will not change a thing. Only problem is a detached barrel on the port twin 50 turret and a small crack in the turret its self. I ran the PT with twin 2800 2cells on a para connector for 40 minutes in 70F yesterday and the ECS (air cooled) was cool and the 3 motors were warm, not hot at scale speeds. Thank YOU!”

“The packing of the boat was above and beyond. Shipment was very fast. I love the boat. I changed the number of boat because there are three of them in our club and of course they all can't be the same. I put a 10 man crew on her and did some weathering and painted the whole boat with a mat finish to get rid of the shine. I would recommend the boat to anyone. It's a keeper..”

“A first-ever for me, the PT-596 is an awesome scale representation of this GOAT littoral scrapper! She looks absolutely picture perfect underway and was easy to set up and get it into the water for her maiden voyage.I do have a few criticisms though. One is although we detailed the cannons and other guns barrels were not as straight and true as they could be. Not horrible but could be better IMHO. I also think the deckhouse and cockpit hatches should be offered with some more positive means of attachment other than gravity. I was in the forward section and tilted the boat and the deckhouse tumbled off (and I broke a barrel of one of the 50 caliber guns. I am using a bit of modelers putty to keep it secure and plan to mount some magnets to keep them in place. I suppose my biggest (minor) gripe is that all the guns should swivel and turn, including the big foredeck gun. Also Bofors mount is wonky too and did not offer a positive fit from the factory.In all seriousness a thrill to find, purchase and captain. The neighbors are having a blast watching it go! I plan to upgrade most all scale details, as well as give it it's proper camouflage and other scale details. All in all a great experience.”

“The boat handles very well straight out of the box. However, The esc is water cooled but no provisions made for water cooling the PT, issue first reported in a review over 2 years earlier but not changed; no provisions made for access to rudders and their linkages an additional hatch will have to be cut around the 40mm bofor mount to enable access; paint is applied very thick and had to be scraped off to enable assembly of accessories parts.”
