“Gripes:The Icon 5 arrived with loose parts in the box. The cockpit was completely free from its moorings. Luckily no damage done. But, the nose was jammed into the foam packaging so hard that it is permanently deformed. The top surface of the wing is smooth and looks good. The under side is bubbly without a good finish. This is true of all other surfaces. More like what you would expect from a HKing model. The tail boom is weak with a lot of flex. I am wondering how long it will last. The elevator servo travels beyond the provided space and requires a bit of trimming.Assembly:Easy. I got this plane for grass operations so I did not leave the gear installed. The assembly is so straight forward a newby could do it quickly.Flight:Fun. Grass take-offs are very easy. The AS3X keeps the wings level as the nose initially pushes into the grass. The speed builds quickly. About the time you want to abort the take-off the lifts beautifully. It is very stable and maneuvers well. 50% power gives a nice scale like attitude. Full power is a bit more like a sport plane but still tame and stable.Landings are excellent. Fast or slow. No worry about bending gear or getting too close to stall speed. Conclusion:Fun flying! With a bit of care by the manufacturer this could become a plane found in every fleet.”
