“Replaced older servo driven gear with these on 6.5 lb plane. Three flights and they are working great. Fit 5mm landing gear perfectly and quick to install.”
“Ordered as a replacement for the FW Yak 130 which had a bad maiden landing that cracked the housing of the original unit. Worked initially and after two weekend trips to the flying field with strong crosswinds the plane still hasn't had a re-maiden with the new retract unit. While the plane was on the stand in my shop this week and I was cycling the gear, this unit would work for a cycle or two and then stay in the up position. Swapped outputs from the retract controller module and then used a servo driver as well and it was definitely the retract that was failing in the up position. Guess I was lucky that I didn't get to fly it again as a belly landing wouldn't have been kind to the eight gear doors.”
“Ordered two of these several months ago and received 4.1 mm instead. Drilled them out and installed my landing gear in a Great Planes Ultra Sport. Gear worked but the housing on them didn't survive a greased landing. Ordered another set, received the correct 5.1 mm and installed. One was DOA and the other one would only retract halfway. Lesson learned here: no more planes with retracts!”
“Actually purchased for Freewing F-14 twin 80mm. The torque of this retract is a little less than stock retract for freewing f-14, so had to use a lighter wheel instead of stock metal wheel, worked great.”
“I've had some bad luck with the new retracts out of the box. RC Motion run out of stock while I was in my build process. Bad luck again right. Now they tell me customs couldn't pack the container right after inspection, bad luck again I'm going to the time could I give them kudos though for staying in touch with me that's the only reason for the 4-star rating”
