Freewing Electronic Main Gear Retract for 5.1mm Diameter Shafts - Type B Reviews

4.2 Rating 35 Reviews
These plastic housings break under the metal plates so you can't tell it is broken sometimes unless you do a pre flight check every time you fly. I have had two break so far. I am currently looking for more solutions for my retracts. They are not over priced at least. Otherwise I would be giving it a one.

The retract failure in the F-7-F happened right before I was going to fly and a plane was saved from sure disaster . I received the new part and noted that It was tested before It was sent , A plus in this day and age . Installed the new retract and were up and running . Thanks Motion for your fast service ............Blaine

I have these retracts installed in the Freewing F-14. The F-14 is a heavy plane and I believe it could have used a beefier set of retracts. White they seem to be nice and tight when new, they develop significant slop after just a few flights... especially by those of us that fly off a grass runway. I would gladly pay a little more money for a plane with a sturdier set of retracts, as there are more grass-field pilots out there than paved runway pilots.
