Absolutely none of these components work this is an extremely disappointing kit! Light turned on for less than 5 seconds got up to project 15 with a very excited 8 year old who was extremely disappointed. returning kit to purchase microbits kit more money but much more engaging.Sad really because the mechanics of the kit and its assembly were great but if none of the components work its lipstick on a pig.

I’m an adult who wants to learn electronics. I have an actual electronics kit on the way, but bought this first in hopes of learning some basics before getting into the real thing. Unfortunately, it provides extremely simplistic explanations of what each part does on a couple of pages at the beginning of the book - and that’s it.I was hoping it would explain how and why things were happening in each project you build, but all it does is show you how to build it and tells you what’s supposed to happen once it’s built. I have no idea why I’m using the parts I am in a project, what they’re supposed to be doing, or why a circuit is built the way it is. If I tried to build my own circuit without instructions, I wouldn’t have a clue when to use a transistor, capacitor, resistor, integrated circuit, etc., or where to put them in the circuit to make them do something. It’s more of a paint by numbers sort of thing instead of teaching you how to actually paint. Maybe as I get more into it, some of the concepts will begin to click, but so far I have no clue how I’m supposed to learn how to build circuits if they do all the work for me in the diagrams, and never explain anything. I’m tempted to return it and just use a real electronics kit with some YouTube tutorials that will hopefully teach the how and why of everything.

I’m 16, I got this when I was like 9, it was much fun. I used to link the battery straight to a fan just to see how far i could get the fan to go
