“A very good quality and well thought-out kit with a good, adjustable iron and the minimum equipment/supplies needed to learn the basics. Lots of booklets to read. It came in a nice cardboard box with a handle that is used to transport it and a few extra parts around. I bought the burglar alarm for myself and the one-button bandit for my dad to work on. I have since bought the helping hand magnifier and the TIPK-2 set of extra tips that match this iron. After using this kit/tools for reattaching/re-soldering the charge port on my mom's old flip phone, I was stoked to keep fixing stuff. I bought some MG Chemicals desoldering wick and 0.032 60/40 rosin core solder for future jobs.”

“As I've been trying to work my way up the latter in my job I thought soldering would give me the upper hand. So after looking at this every day for almost a week I purchased it. The only soldering I had ever done was on phone charger that had been chewed up by dogs or pulled apart by my nieces and the occasional soldering I had to do on my cheap electric guitar. I understood the basis of it but I had never done anything like it besides welding(much different I came to find out). So for this price I think this is a wonderful deal, contrary to some reviews I read the little sharp tools come in handy especially if it's your first time and your mistake prone. The ohm meter works wonderfully I've used it to check multiple things and it comes in handy. So if your like me and have never soldered before the practice circuit light is great. at the top it gives you the opportunity to learn how to solder and it has step by step instructions. So if you screw something up that's perfectly fine. The step by step instructions for the actual light was very easily understood and now I'm pretty comfortable with doing simple to moderately difficult soldering! Also one more thing, I thought the led free solder that came with it is just fine for small projects like this just be quick.”

We worked together on it and it helped me re-tune my soldering skills with some repetition. As I'd never soldered on printed circuit boards previously, it was great experience in bringing my skills current.We had also ordered the Elenco Escape Robot Kit but have not yet worked on it.”
