“I have two of these batteries and they began to have issues within the 1st 10 charges. After the 1st couple of charges one or two cells would come up to voltage slower. Over the rest of the season this just got worst until after taking them out of storage this season they are just useless. these were used in a Jet once or twice and in prop planes maybe a dozen times. I have been flying noting but electric for the last 8 years and know how to use and maintain lipos. My other HK nano batteries have lasted 3 or 4 seasons of heavy use. Unfortunately nanos wont fit my Jet.”
“I posted a review on this battery, that was spot on. But, I'm compelled to post a follow-up on my review, after MRC contacted me. First let me say, I have done a considerable amount of business with MRC and have had only a couple of issues with products. And just like before, MRC has shown me, what GREAT Customer Service is all about. I had no illusions of getting a replacement for this battery, since I had purchased it 5 + months ago. But MRC came through again and I have a new replacement battery on the way. As long as I'm flying EDF jets, MRC will always be my first stop for shopping and you should have a look as well. Thanks a Ton MRC,Jetman64”
“I purchased 3 of these batteries last October for my MRC F-15 (purchased at same time) 90mm PNP, but I haven't had a chancel to use them yet, because of medical issues. I put them into storage and yesterday, I brought them out to check them. After check one battery, the second has 2 dead cells already. It's pretty bad, when a good Lipo has 2 dead cells after only 4/5 months in storage. It's even worse, when you paid over $315 for 3 and only get 2 to use. Take care with these lipo's and check the cells as soon as you get them, I did and still lost one.”
“Like most modelers I have used various brands of batteries looking for the best weight to size to longevity to price ratio. The Motion RC 5000 mah 6 cell Admiral lipos have the best ratio I've found. Cost a bit more but are the smallest, lightest and longest lasting I have found. The quality, especially for high amp drawing jets is the best I have found. Spend the little extra and have fewer worries.”
“Note these batteries are longer than their predecessors, thus I'd call them V2. Plus, I read on Hobby Squawk, Tom said these are a completely different battery...lighter, better performance; thus a different size.I bought two and they weighed in at 732 and 735 grams compared to their predecessors (V1) that weighed between 740-750 grams. The balance plug has a cover to ease plugging them into a balance charger port. The balance plug wires could be an inch longer to further ease plugging them in, but are sufficient. So far I've had the same great flight performance as the V1s. However, I did notice they didn't come down as warm and seem to have a little more in reserve than my V1s on my typical 3 minute flight on my 90mm EDFs.Overall, still the best price per performance I've found in 6S 5000s. I will be buying more. Thanks MotionRC for making great products even better!”
