What a fun plane, super easy to assemble and an incredible performer. I always put this in the car as an extra plane, and even if I’m flying my 1/6 scale F16 turbine, it’s the Lightning that gets the attention, easy to self-launch, bags of power and six minute flight times on a 2200mah lipo! I added the Hobbyeagle gyro and even in a wind it’s superb, fly it on a calm day and it feels like it’s five times the size. Give us a 80/90mm Lightning please Motion?!!

Great subject, hasnt been produced in foam before, quick and easy to put together. I let some windows into the canopy and made the landing gear removeable, both easy mods and also the aileron servo swap to underside. Adding missiles from the X-fly T-7. If you use the landing gear you need to add 15 - 20g of weight to the rear end.

The 64mm Electric Lightning is a wonderful little jet. It is a nice improvement over the lower cost 64mm jets like the Crusader which IMHO fly best on 3s 1800 packs. This one is "full house" with 4 servos and enough power to fly right out of your hand on a 4s 2200. It looks great in the air, it is very stable, fast or slow, and can land at a crawl. Even high alpha flight is easily done. The power system is very efficient, it sounds good, it makes lots of thrust and it is very efficient. For me 5-6 minute flights are easily achieved. Thank You MRC and Freewing for bringing this iconic cold war interceptor to market and and setting a new standard for size and performance!

I have a connection with this aircraft ! My Uncle helped design it !! He came up with the idea of increasing its fuel capacity by using overwing tanks ! He worked as a designer for English Electric, and was given time to develop this feature, which worked ! So owning this jet was a must have. I,m very pleased with how true to scale it is as for Flying its stable at reasonable speed, which you have to maintain during flight. Only downside was NOTHING TO DO WITH THE JET. It was being CHARGED IMPORT TAX ! By FedEx , I've applied for a refund but as yet NO FURTHER INFO . They would not deliver until I paid it and as of today 23/3 / 26 NOTHING !

Flys great, I added an afterburner and uped the motor to a hight KV rating. What a wild ride, maybe the was a little to much, although it was fun keeping up with the speed. Crashed on landing when I tried to do a touch and and didn't go, lol. Now I need to decide to buy the reapir parts or just oder a new plane.

Fab little jet, great sounding powerful edf unit...... BUT.....its really hard to see at distance, so I've put 'non scale' bright orange oratrim on top of the wings so that I can see its orientation in the sky....it virtually disappeared a few times on the maiden flight !!! The marked c of g is ok but at the back of what you'd fly with, mine was a bit pitchy so I moved the battery forward a bit and it felt much more stable. It will easily fly on larger batteries, im using 2900 35c 4s and the extra weight helps with putting the balance point a bit further forward and gives a 5 minute flight with the batteries coming back at about 30 to 35 %. It flies really well on half throttle and is quite quick at that....but really gets a move on at full throttle. Lastly RATES.....its really sensitive to ailerons....I've gone right down to %35 and expo at %65 for smooth scale like flight. The elevator is large....all moving tailplane.....so I've put mine down to 35% up 50% down to feel nice through the slow rolls and inverted flight and 50% expo means its not too twitchy. If your elevator doesn't sit level at the neutral point, remove the bottom section where you access the edf unit and the elevator push rod can be adjusted via a grubb screw. Hand launch is easy, nose slightly up and just a gentle throw....it doesn't need an Olympic javelin launch. Do all that and you'll have a drama free maiden with a great little jet.....enjoy.

It's fast! It hand launches easily, and is very stable. I moved the aileron horns to the underside of the wing to improve the appearance, a fairly simple mod. I also added "afterburners", which was a challenge.

Un jet exceptionnel et très économique en batterie. Je vol 4.5 min avec une 4s 2200. Très précis, montée verticale impressionnante, et il sait tout faire en voltige... Un must have
