“I snagged my Avanti-S on a tree branch which flung it 30 feet straight down into the ground and crushed the fuselage shell back to the air inlets. However, the nose cone, canopy, wings, tail surfaces and all components survived. I loved that plane, so I ordered the replacement fuselage. It arrived undamaged 4 days later. It included preinstalled top and bottom LED lights, nose gear doors, battery mounting board with battery strap, wing cable tunnel cover and the motor retention foam fuselage plug with screws. It does not include the long coil spring that connects the two nose gear doors, but that part always survives a crash. Transferring the components was easy and the CG stayed the same. The only thing I would like to see added is a nose gear side-load brace (see photo) which makes taxiing more precise and really reduces side loads on the nose gear strut when flying from grass/rough runways (see picture). I fabricated mine from 1/4 aircraft plywood, painted it yellow and epoxied it in place. Alignment of the flight surfaces on the new fuselage was perfect. Reuse of the old wings and tail surfaces, servos and linkages resulted in a test flight that retained the perfect flight trim from the previous fuselage. No trim adjustments were needed at all. It flies smooth and fast just as before. It is wonderful that Motion RC stocks replacement parts for the aircraft they sell. The Avanati-S is one of the few airplanes I have owned in the last 50 years that is absolutely worth repairing or replacing. The price of a fuselage is so much better than the price of a full replacement airframe.”
