“An extra refueling probe shaft is a good idea. I have found that reducing the total length of the probe shaft by 1/2 inch reduces the possibility of a tip probe strike with the ground when an approach to landing is not quite perfect but retains the scale position relationship the refuel probe to the fuselage nose.”
