“I really wanted to like the F-35 but just couldn’t. It goes together easily, is plenty fast, but going fast is about all it’s good for. It lands faster than any plane I’ve flown, and I’ve owned (and loved) the FW 90mm F-16 that’s notoriously difficult to land. It has no high alpha ability. You need to stay on the wing or it’ll spin on you and drop like a rock. Roll rate is insane (4 / second) at full rates. However, it needs more room to fly and land than many much larger jets. The pitch rate is abysmal too. Even with maximum elevator deflection and an aft CG you need a tremendous amount of real estate for even a 180* turn.The fan exploded on me after about 25 flights, and that’s when I called time on my F-35 and moved on to the BAE Hawk, which can do everything the F-35 can and a whole lot more.”

“I hate to leave less than favorable reviews, but my last two experiences with MRC were more involved than I would have preferred. Let me say this plane flies great. Be sure to have the CG on before maiden. I was slightly nose heavy and she definitely showed me! I almost ran out of up elevator which made getting down a little nervous. Also, tune the ailerons down! 30 to 35% makes her fly like a dream with about 40% expo. I would also check the landing gear to make sure they are securely glued to the fuselage. Other than that, the plane is fast, lands fast, gets out of sight fast, and is for a pilot who's used to fast for 70mm. Be careful, eventhough intermediate pilots can probably fly this plane. As far as the bad with CS, my plane arrived with substantial hangar rash, wingtips crushed, compression marks on various parts of the fues, and cracked paint (matte was very noticeable). I kindly sent pics as soon as I pulled it out of the box, same day of delivery. I was responded to with a disconcern, told to match and paint my own plane, while the imperfections upon delivery was made to be like they all come that way. No, they don't. My M2000, Yak130, F5, P51, and F105 arrived perfectly. All I wanted or expected was to get a new set of wings that looked like crap when I opened the much anticipated box with blue tape. I heard about MRC's renowned CS, but not in this case and I'm disappointed. They are still my go to, but d@mn, come on guys. I recommend the plane through! Nice flying plane and a hands-down head turner!”

“Flight characteristics are different from my BaE Hawk. But easy to fly. Tone down the aileron throws from manufactures recommendations. Keep your speed up in turns. No need for flaps as long as your CG is correct. High alpha all day long thanks to the full flying elevators! Awesome aircraft! Just push that crazy button and get one!”
