Freewing F-22 Raptor 90mm EDF Jet - ARF PLUS Reviews

4.9 Rating 78 Reviews
My kit arrived in excellent shape, everything fit perfect and worked as it should, love the flight envelope it has, fast or slow it's happy. If there is one thing I hate on these new EDF jets and that is the retract delay, so I bypassed the blue box on the rear retracts and left the nose gear hooked up to the blue box and it all works very scale now when retracting. Thanks MRC

I miss the bels and whistles of the T-45 and other 90mm jets this does not have. Price is more but has less to it. Not even lights as some 80's do. That's disappointing. With that being said it is the best flying model I own. Unlike the F-15 the trust tube is mathematically correct so it has good thrust. It goes very slow and very fast. I went nuts on power and installed a 12s 6200 system so its extra heavy. This thing still walks in on landing so slow you could almost catch it. On the flip side we got it on radar at 155 mph. To be honest the stock 8s looks slower but not much. 8s is better bang for your buck. It is impressive looking both on the ground and in the air. Has zero bad habits. Performance wise WOW. Wish it had a bell or whistle for more of your money. Nowadays lights at least on a 90 is expected.

The jet performs well on 6S, looks very cool in the air but for some reason, it's not the funnest FW jet I fly. The jet is one of the more tippy ones from FW, not happy with wing tip wear. Also, the front retract socket was not glued very well, became sloppy, and made the tipping problem worse resulting in more wingtip wear. Needless to say, this is a very expensive repair. I won't pay for it (I'll live with the dings) so it falls down on my list of satisfying jets. It's also rather minimalist for the price. The 90mm Goshawk, as well as the twin F-14, were mind blowing when released. The Raptor although beautifully made (with this exception of some out of box gatoring on the top right wing) didn't wow me as much, kind of boring. SU-35 is a blast!

I purchased the ARF and installed a JP 8S fan and ECS. Very pleased with jet, assembly, and performance. Would recommend to anyone interested in this type of jet.

I really wanted the F-22 to be my favorite plane. I have been waiting for years for a company to do a 90mm large scale of the F-22. The plane is very well put together and has very robust landing gear and just looks freaking cool. It is very quick and efficient with its use of power. It comes down to being too easy to fly. It is like flying on a nice cushy cloud. The controls are accurate and have a natural dampening feeling to it. Doesn't like crosswind landing. The pivoting main landing gear allows for the plane to tip easy. You have to be pretty good at you rudder control. After setting up the control surfaces even, the stalls are just beautiful. It drops the nose with no tip stall. Landings with full flaps is almost like it has auto pilot. Very little involvement by me. This is all great and is a great plane for speed, looks and ease of flight and I wish I had this as my first large EDF. Although, I have more fun with my Sukohi twin edf.
