GT Power LiPo Battery Voltage Checker with Low Voltage Alarm Reviews

4.4 Rating 63 Reviews
I've found this to be a very useful product. The LEDs are bright and the alarm is loud.I use the device in several .40 size, semi-scale foam rc airplanes and can hear easily hear the low voltage alarm during low passes. It's great to hear the low voltage alarm from the airplane confirm the transmitter's timer, and when the alarm goes off it's time to put the gear down and land.

I had an eflite 2200mah 30C pack that was on its 5th cycle (always stored at 3.8V/cell and charged at 1C) that discharged alarmingly quick today. At only three minutes into a six minute flight I would have definitely hit LVC and with the 10-13mph crosswind gusts would have probably had an abrupt landing.I will never fly without one of these again. Bringing a low voltage alarm to the field should be right there with bringing your transmitter.

These work great...I don't think they're really loud, but you can hear them. I like that you can set the voltage alarm. Using these voltage alarms saved my Hangar 9 Twin Otter. A cell went bad on takeoff. Without the voltage alarm I'd have never known and it would have crashed.Motion's customer service showed here also. I ordered 2...one worked...one did not. The replacement was out to me in days.

So for functionality it works great. Alarm is really loud. Like all GT Poiwer items it's loud all the time. I would recommend not plugging in indoors. My bad comment besides that it is isn't that tough. I had a battery go flying off my plane with one of these attached from 60 feet. This thing exploded on impact and the battery was just fine.

if you use lipo, this is a must have. no matter what your skill level, you can benefit from this handy little tool. i almost always plug this into my lipo prior to flight and leave it plugged in during the duration of the entire flight. just set the alarm to go off when a cell gets to a specific voltage and you wont have to worry about making sure to hit your timer again. great product at a great price.

I'm careful with my batteries and always charge carefully, still I've caught myself almost loading a discharged battery. This is quick and easy and you know the battery is good to go.Really good thing with this voltage checker is the low voltage alarm. Great on maiden flights when you don't know how much flight time you are going to get. Especially on electric sailplanes. I leave this plugged to the balance tap during flight, set it to 3.6 volts per cell. When it starts beeping, and don't worry about hearing it, I know I need to land and check my timer setting. The battery winds up at about 3.76 volts at rest.About the beeping...I estimate that it can be heard from at least 1/2 mile away. Amazingly loud. The alarm can be deactivated easily. I should have two of these.Mike
