“This tank is impressive, but it is a lot of work to assemble all the parts, especially the chains and balls were very tedious, but certainly look great once compleated. The Heng Long instructions aren't the greatest and I think there are at least a couple errors and assembly sequence problems. Most the parts fit well, but I had to glue a few that fit to loose. On the back of my tank the where the doors go that cover the grill for the speaker the frame was warped, I tried to straighten it by hand but it's still warped a little, I blame inadequate Heng Long QC. I was disappointed that the LED for the machine gun is an upgrade when it only requires the LED harness and hollow tube for the barrel, probably about $1 for parts max. I also found the IR battle performance outside disappointing, the LegoDEI upgrade is a must. The TK 7.0 radio receiver has a ton of adjustments to the way thing work and several possible add-ons, but the Heng Long documentation is very poor unless you can read Chineese. Overall I'm pretty happy with the tank it seems pretty rugged but I'm not abusing it in any way, we'll see how it holds up in the long run.”

“This is my first Henglong tank, and I'll give you an honest review. It's no Tamiya tank, that's for sure. Having said that I'll give the pros and cons. I got the upgrade version which does not have metal wheels, tracks, and ball bearings, but has every other feature, including barrel recoil, or precoil it should be called with these tanks. The tank is extremely light weight, and appears very toy like right out of the box. I did a complete repaint, and it looks so much better. It functions as you would expect straight from the box. The smoke is not realistic at all, but some find it neat. The airsoft pellets included are roughly cut from the runners causing the shots to be wildly unpredictable. Using high quality BBs will fix this most likely. The Tx takes 6AA batteries when modern radios take only 4. The included battery pack is only good for 30 mins of run time, but takes 4 hours to charge if you're using the supplied charger. The IR battle system works well, with a pretty good range. I wanted to try one of the Henglong tanks and like the look of the Merkava. Since Henglong is the only one that produces this tank in RC at this scale it's the only choice. I do not regret the purchase. With some time, a few upgrades, and better paint job these can be great looking examples. You get what you pay for, and these are by far entry level RC tanks.”
