This is the first of several reviews I plan on posting. There will be one on assembling, one on flight performance, and maybe one on suggested changes and hardware choices. As usual, Motion RC did a great job in fulfilling the order. I received it in just 3 days. Of course it helps to live 2 states away and near a major shipping hubs.As with many Nexa products, this plane comes covered with the printed details on the covering. I am not a fan of this type as it adds weight. On a plane this size, it adds up. On the plus side, I have not had issues with this kind so I'll go with it.The retracts seem OK but the struts are not the best. They are stiff and do not move freely when compressed. A bit of lube should help but I will look into a set of Robart robostruts and 4" wheels. If you choose to use the inner gear doors, a sequencer will be needed. The cycle time for the up or down is about 6 seconds so the sequencer needs to have some adjustment feature. The hinges are blade hinges with pins, not CA types. I would like to use point hinges. I will see how much work it will take to swap them.At this point, everything looks good. I look forward to putting it together. Stay tuned for the next post. Since I had to rate the assembly and performance, they are average. Quality and Value are both above average.Ron

While I haven’t built the Bearcat yet, I felt compelled to do this review early. I purchased this bird (2019) before and sold it, after I completed it. The first edition was a complete mess, it required many mods to make it work. This edition has absolutely been changed, from the first. The entire model was wrapped differently then the first and that’s a good thing, nothing was loose in the box when I opened it. As for the all gear doors, they actually fit and are not warped. All the glue joints are glued, and there’s no noises when you pick it up. The retracts look much stronger, and the mounts are stouter. The only things I don’t like, are the plastic control surface horns and the rudder control system (it’s the same as before). But as for the rest, I’m pleasantly surprised and will be keeping this Bearcat! My advice to those who got the first edition, take the leap again and save $300. And MRC told me, there will not be anymore spare parts coming. You may want to get one just for spares. Thanks MRC, you listen and these changes are very welcome… Note: I’ll be posting pics of this bird on HOBBYSQUAWK soon.
