“My boyfriend was stunned to open th is on Christmas morning, like a little kid again. He is extremely pleased with this -- thank you for offering it for sale! Arrived in perfect condition and quickly.”
“My first wood build ARF, I have many foam plans. I'm taking my time with this plane, I opted for the NGH 17. I figured this would be a good place to start. I want to ultimately have a collection of the wwii war birds, with at least a giant size corsair, with a 400cc moki. Being the center piece.”

“Nice plane, but it needed some work to give it more scale. I love the scale and the detail! I improved decals, imitated the engine, added machine guns, and other details.I opted for the electric version: 6s 5000, Dualsky 5060 motor, 120-amp Redbrick ESC, three 15x8 blades, plenty of power. It landed perfectly flat, excellent. Fixed some issues with the tailwheel. I decided to glue the wings together as a single piece.”

“Last week I had the chance to maiden my Nexa F6F Hellcat from Motion RC. This was my third balsa ARF, second from Nexa. I prefer to build balsa kits but the $280 price of this ARF was too good to pass by. To put that is perspective, I would spend over $100 just on covering and decals for a balsa build this size. This is a very well designed kit with good hardware and directions that goes together easily. I was happy with the Nexa T-34 ARF I had previously assembled but this one was even better. It took me about 20 hours of leisurely work to assemble. I powered my Hellcat with a Cobra 4130/14 450kv motor, 80 amp Smart ESC and MAS 14/9/3 prop on 6S. I submit that the power system recommended by Motion (400kv/two bladed prop/4S) would be anemic for a model this size. Another place that I deviated from Motion recommended equipment is with the retractable landing gear. On my T-34 I had initially installed the recommended Nexa retracts but they were a continuous problem flying off the slightly rough fabric runway at our club. The base of the Nexa retracts is plastic and they have very soft metal pins which bend easily. After going through two sets on the T-34, I replaced them with (all metal) Eflight 25-46 Electric retracts which have performed flawlessly. Based upon that experience, I put the Eflight 100 Degree Rotating gear (EFLG320) in this plane. They fit the Hellcat with only one small modification, and they accept the gear doors provided in the kit.The only other change that I made was to add a dedicated servo for tailwheel steering. The directions call for the tailwheel linkage to be coupled with the rudder linkage inside of the model. If rigged this way, the only way to adjust the tailwheel relative to the rudder is to adjust the linkage inside the model which requires wing removal. Instead, I mounted an additional servo inside the fuselage solely for tail wheel steering. That servo is mixed to the rudder and can be easily adjusted on the transmitter via “offset” in the mixing setup. The maiden went without a hitch, and the models flies nicely as expected. At full throttle telemetry showed 79 amp current draw with a top speed of 80 mph. It is certainly not a pattern plane but has good maneuverability and does well with acro. Very little trim was needed and the plane slows down nicely with full flaps. This is definitely a great looking model that is fun to fly.”
“Always loved the Hellcat and was hesitent to purchase this model, that was a mistake as she is a beatiful model and flies great. I ended up using the Flightline Corsair motor, prop and gear and just had to make some minor modifcations in the balsa to get the gear to fit. Using 5000mah batteries to get the cg to the book value. This is a great flying model of the Hellcat, may upgrade motor and prop in the future.”

“Overall a nice plane for the price. First flight was underpowered, but flew fine. Flaps good. Retracts OK on asphalt runway. Swapped motor for NEO 60 and flew good on 6S Battery. When attempting take-off from grass, Retracts folded-up before leaving the ground. Retracts need to be stronger, if flying from grass. Plane easy build, but heavy. Looks great. Flies well, but retracts are marginal. I purchased the standard l/g and it worked OK, but the mounting plate is smaller than the mounting plate on the retract.”
