I assembled the zero with the recommended electric Admiral GP10 400kv motor and retracts. I used the 100 amp avian ESC that I had a spectrum AR 637T receiver. One comment I assembled the zero with the recommended electric Admiral 10 motor and retracts. I used the 100 amp avian ESC that I had an spectrum AR 637T receiver. One comment I like to make is it is best pthat you build it out with a 6S battery. The plane flies like a real plane not a foamy. It’s best to have the extra power. Use the 14-7-3prop. Ran it with a 5000 MA battery. Total weight with battery was 7.2 pounds. The plane flies great to scale. It got a lot of attention. Would recommend this as an intermediate plane, not a beginner plane. It says the build time is 6+, I’m a pretty good builder and even with having all the supplies I needed it took 14hours. Not a problem by any means, And I do doublecheck everything. Highly recommended. The only problems with the instructions is it has the front of the motor 125 mm from the front bulkhead. This is wrong. It’s a lot less. I think it’s measured from the back bulkhead. So when you mount the motor double check the cowling, so you have the proper room . Just a minor concern

Assembly was straight forward. Installed an OS 55AX glow engine and the plane balanced right at the 107mm CG point. This plane is VERY responsive so I had to dial down EPA and add a fair amount of expo on aileron and elevator. Landing is smooth and predictable.

Firstly, the hardware I used to complete my build:1x EMAX 9-gram servo4x Futaba U-300 servo1x Futaba R-2006GS receiver1x Spektrum 2s2200 Li-FE receiver battery1x Master Airscrew 12-8-3 prop1x Saito Fa-82 4-stroke glow engine1x remote glow plug clip1x retract setBuild went super smooth. Practically put itself together! Included hardware all works well, though I did have a couple minor missing bits. No spinner in mine...that's fine I would have needed a 3-blade replacement anyway...and no engine mounts, but I borrowed those from a derelict in my boneyard.Balance came without any dead weight or crazy part placement! Put the battery right up on the firewall next to the fuel tank.Balance it per instructions. That's where I balanced mine and it's dead nuts perfect.Flight characteristics...I sent mine up for its maiden flight in a 15 gusting 20 semi-crosswind with tons of turbulence and it came back down intact and graceful. This thing flies great, it loves wind, and it does NOT need a gyro!
