“I have not finished this up yet but thought I would review it. I love how the plane looks. I am not sure how the manufacturer builds them and covers them so well but it is very realistic looking. As I am finishing this model up the only complaint I have is the flaps/dive brake design. Looks hard to adjust so I redesigned the servo installation so I can install the servos and adjust then put the cover on. Also gets rid of the hole in the cover! Also the instructions are lacking a bit but I used to stick build models back when I first got into this hobby so the assembly is no problem. The model is almost completely built so just final assembly is required.”

“The plane arrived here in Arizona in about 6 days using fedex ground(At least you can track it and it will be delivered the day it hits town and not sit somewhere for days) and was in good shape. The previous review panned the servo hatches for the clamshell flaps, and he was correct. I had to cut the doors and shift them over about an inch to get the flaps to work right. The adjustment hole they provide is in the wrong place, get your drill bit or hole saw ready. The covering is a vinyl of some kind, not an orocoat or any other readily available product but something they cooked up. The detail and quality of the covering was very good but seemed incompatible with some instant glues. Th e landing gear was installed and worked fine and was sturdy but one shaft shifted on the first landing and I had to really torque the set screw to get it to stay straight.(which it has so far after a few landings). The instructions were OK but there was no description of how to install an electric motor at all. The hardware and mounting were provided but you had to figure it out for yourself which you can do if you have had experience with this sort of thing but not for a new builder. The gear landing doors were not much of a problem for me to put on, just used some thick super glue. They did do a very good job on the clamshell flaps with the painting and construction but one of the nylon clevises broke and I had to glue and screw a replacement clevis right next to the old one and it seems to work fine. There is a lot of little laser cut wood detail to add if you want along with string for an antenna array and other details like an air speed tube on the wing. All in all, it's a good plane for the money. I installed a rimfire .80 motor and an 80 amp esc. I use a 5000ma 6s battery and can get 7 minute flights easy. With this set up, no weight in the nose was needed, balance was right on. Maiden flight was fine with some trimming needed, take offs and landings were easy, seemed very stable to fly.”

“This has got to be the most poorly designed kit I have receive from Motion. The covering detail is just unbelievable, the wings are complete with panel lines and weathering. It seems they forgot to weather the rest of the airplane. The speed brakes are a absolute joke. Could never get them to open and close properly. On the sixth attempt to adjust them, one of the plastic control arms snapped about 1/4” from the leading edge. The gear covers are completely worthless, won’t fit properly and are extremely frail.Aileron and center flap servos mount with servo arms parallel to the wing surface, making the connecting rod follow a arc. If the servo was installed in the wing with the servo arm perpendicular to the wing, the rod would move inline with the horns. The Hurricane model is done right. The cowling is a different color than the rest of the airplane. There are many wooden parts that are not included in the manual. The machine guns are great. I am too embarrassed to take this model to our field!”

“First off, the box arrived with no damage and all the parts were well packaged and also had no marks or damage from shipping. The assembly was pretty straight forward starting with the wings. As a whole wing they went together well. The flaps look nice but were quite a struggle to get them aligned with the servos as provided. From the pictures in the manual there is a 1/2 hole that allows you access to adjust the mechanism without removing the cover, however the holes seemed to be in the wrong end and provided no access at all. I drilled a 1/8 hole in the forward part of the hatch to allow access to the set screw instead. This was true of both hatches. It appears they were just finished on the wrong side so were flipped around. I am still fighting with the flaps to get them to hold closed properly, they tend to drift open about an 1/8 of an inch. The landing gear doors were the worst part of the whole thing. Flimsy, overly large, and left a fairly large gap between them and the underside of the wing when closed. In the end I took them off and will 3-D print some replacements. Fuselage went together with no problems. I went with the electric option and to have the battery far enough forward had to carve out a portion of the firewall to gain another 1/4. I currently have the ESC mounted under the battery tray but after the first flight decided I am going to mount it on the little shelf in front of the firewall under the motor. When finished it required a little bit of extra nose weight to get CG, with the ESC in its new position I think that will remedy that.First flight went very well. Had great power and took off in a decent roll. It is a very nice flyer, I used the Motion recommended motor and it has plenty of power. I was around 50% throttle for most of the flight and cruised nicely in the pattern. My first approach was a little hot so gained some height and tried the flaps. Didn't notice any nasty twitch when deployed. Landing was good, a little bounce then settled down.Overall it is a pleasure to fly. I used an Admiral 4000 60C and after 7 minutes of flight still had 50%. Will be tweaking everything, adding a little more expo and working on those darned flaps and gear doors.”
