“This an update of my earlier post. The problems with the provided retracts have caused me to downgrade my earlier post to two stars. The overall quality is low and the very poor instruction manual that doesn't match the actual kit are only part of this ARF's Problems. Please note the attached screen shot of the nose gear that I have high lighted to show the offending plastic steering arm and it's set screw which interferes with retraction. Also because its plastic the set screw can't be tightened enough to avoid the strut turning from the stress of taxi, takeoff and landing. See my earlier post.”

“I was looking for a T-28 but saw this and it looked like it might fill the bill for a good flying, electric powered war bird with robust enough retracts to fly from my club's grass runway. Well it is but would be better suited to hard surface runways only. A major drawback to sod surfaces is the nose gear which is very problematic. First is the fact that the nose wheel steering arm (as provided) is on the opposite side from the nose steering/rudder servo which can only be mounted in the provided left side tray. They must be on the same side to accommodate the steering push rod. Just turning the steering arm over so that it is now on the same side as the rudder servo will not work because this places the set screw on the plastic steering arm so that it now interferes with the retract cycle by not allowing the strut to fully retract. I found that I had to flip the arm over then put it back on the strut upside down the get the arm on the correct side and the arm set screw facing forward (up when retracted) so that it didn't bind. That also required grinding a new flat spot on the strut to accommodate the new placement of the set screw. The geometry of the steering push rod is also problematic because it is long and flimsy which allows the nose wheel to shimmy during takeoff and landing. One or two landings and the nose wheel will cock off center requiring a readjustment of the afore mentioned set screw. Since this set screw is threaded into a plastic steering arm it isn't long before the threads are stripped and the nose wheel can't be made to track straight or fit properly in the wheel well during retraction. Grrrrrrrr. I also found it hard to keep the main gear struts from turning causing the wheels to tow in or tow out. The set screws just can't be tightened enough for grass runways. That said, the plane flies great but the nose gear problems mean that it has become a real hanger queen.”

“Not very impressed with the overall quality of the kit. Had numerous missing small parts and I am not a fan of the stick in covering. The patch material included is plain, so match the printed covering is out of the question. Frankly I feel the kit is over priced. The plane appears to be a VQ brand kit with a new name. Looking at the kit it appears building for electric is an after-thought with glow/gas being the primary power choice.”

“This airplane is everything that is advertised. It goes together fairly easily, especially if you have built models from kits or ARFs which are balsa and ply. The only change I made is to use a separate servo for the nose gear steering. It can be mounted in the front section under the battery tray a few inches from the steering bracket. Use a metal rod with a metal clevis on the steering bracket and use one of the rotating rod clamps on the servo horn so you can make adjustments easily. The battery will need to be mounted towards the rear of the battery tray to achieve the proper CG. One thing that was not provided was a battery strap. The four bolts used for mounting an electric motor are a bit heavy and it takes some time to get the offset correct. I think a plywood box set up would save weight and be easier to mount the motor to. Otherwise the construction is very good and it looks very nice as well. As far as flying , this is a solid smooth flying airplane. I installed an Eagle 3 gyro system which I have in all my plane and jets , which really makes for great handling especially crosswinds etc. One other thing , the pictures show the landing gear as just struts, that's not what you get. They are nice scale like spring loaded gear with scissors.”

“This was my first Nexa balsa purchase from MotionRC and I was very impressed with the build quality and packaging. Everything was in perfect order, very well protected and the build was made easy with a large amount of the building already completed, including installed retracts/gear, and pre hinged control surfaces. Assembly was on par with other ARF kits of this size, my only surprise was that some small parts were missing from the box but nothing I didn't have on hand. I would like to mention that the description calls for six standard size servos to complete, however I discovered that both the aileron and flaps required a smaller micro servo as the mounting slot was sized smaller so keep this in mind when purchasing parts to complete. I chose to use an E-Flite Power 50 motor from the Carbon Z Cessna, coupled with a Spectrum 100A Smart ESC and all Hitec servos. With this setup the plane required 1.5oz of weight in the tail to balance correctly, and I created a larger battery tray with a 10in piece of wood to move my battery farther back (6s 5000mah). The maiden flight went off without a hitch, required little trim and I found the factory control throw rates to be on the conservative side. This T-34C is a fantastic flyer, absolutely rock solid and with the above setup I'm getting 7min flight times. It has plenty of vertical performance and will handle just about any maneuver you try. You will need to fly this one to the ground as it will tip stall easily, keep this in mind when landing to flare with throttle and you'll have hassle free flights. The landing gear are superb and robust taking any impact without issue. Overall I'm very happy with this T-34C, it's beautifully built and flies fantastically! Thanks for another superb product MotionRC!”

“I hate to report a negative but this time it needs one. The nose fit to the fuselage is so poor it will require a major rebuild. The wing tip plastic is very flimsy and will not hold up. Canopy arrived broken as it is also flimsy. Otherwise, construction seems good and covering is very nice. Landing gear appears strong enough. Needed aft weight to balance but not excessive.”

“This plane is nice. Looks solid construction and nice details but BECAREFUL the NGH 17cc Don't fit on this cowling, the close space plus the nose retract landing gear don't permit install the engine whitout would be destroy the cowling completely. From the technical service don't sent me photos or drawings of how to install this motor when requested about this issue.I will not ensambly my untill don't find any solution from the storeI have a open ticket waiting for the solution on my case.”
