I currently have five Roban models, of which the EC-130 is the latest addition. Roban's offerings have improved over the years, and I'm happy they have updated the EC-130 mechanics, especially the tail. The instructions are not suitable for a beginner, but If you've assembled a few scale ships, the EC-130 will not be a complicated build. However, the fenestron tail on the EC-130 dictates that you spend a little time oiling and greasing the tail unit and making sure everything is lined up and installed correctly. Also, I highly suggest you utilize a tail servo with a minimum of 300oz of torque.I now have about six flights on my EC-130, so I'm still getting used to the unique flying characteristics of a Fenestron tail helicopter. The helicopter is very smooth, and the tail is locked in with plenty of authority, even with the limited throws. I admit I was a bit anxious during the first few flights as I've heard stories of the tail not having authority or being ineffective. However, that does not seem to be the case with mine. I think it is due to the improvements that Roban has made to the tail and the use of a high torque servo. All in all, I'm happy with the purchase, and I hope this mini-review helps if you are contemplating the purchase of this helicopter.
