First I should say that I have built and flown heli's for 25 years. If you take anything from this review, throw out the ball links and buy 700 SAB's. I had ball links break just picking up the rotor head. The very first instruction was install the skids. The pre drilled holes didn't line up. There were endless annoying issues like that. If you have built a number of heli's it's not a problem solving them. The mechanics do not even fit in the fuselage without using a dremel on the fuselage to make it fit. The main drive gear is too wide. For the money I think that's sad. The horizontal wing on the tail uses a carbon rod through the tail that uses pinch screws. Better use epoxy because the whole surface pin wheels. There should be an access hatch to inspect servos and electronics. I made a removable hatch. I had to create spacers for the servos because as received there was push rod interference. The mechanics seemed like excel first generation CCPM only not as good. The fuselage is very impressive looking. The first few flights I used an Ikon 2. It was an ok flyer. The tail had a lot of lag because of slop in the gearing and a slow head speed. I did install an H1 in it for a friend to fly it and in drone mode. It flew pretty well that way.I would say that if it were $800 cheaper I could accept this lack of attention to detail however putting in all top electronics this should be a far more impressive build and fly.

The Roban Cobra is my 4th Roban helicopter and I was surprised and pleased to see they now include helical gearing from the factory. This makes the mechanics much quieter. Also the mechanics were much more accurately assembled. Mine required no additional shimming to get a smooth operation. The instructions are no better but hey, this ain't no Lego kit! Any scale helicopter requires building skills and forethought regardless of manufacturer.
