“Pulls to left some on takeoff but use rudder and ailerons. Nice finish and good detail. Good retracts. Flies nice but do not need much elevator. Flew 6min not full throttle with 1000ma battery all way forward.”

“Agreat looking scale Avenger. The idea of an aircraft this size with retracts was the feature that led me to buy it. But! the landing gear were loose in the retract servo. I had to remove each gear assembly and tighten the set screws on the side of the servo to stop the landing gear shaft from twisting and turning inside the servo. Even after tightening they came loos again so I retightened the set screws and put a drop of CA glue down the small hold in the servo to cement the landing gear shaft to the servo.”

“I've had time to assemble the kit, but not yet fly it due to weather. Fit and finish are excellent. Assembly was quick and easy, no structural mods required, easily finished in one evening. All servos and retracts function, no out of box failures. Looks like a solid plane. However, I think the 3S 800-1200 mAh lipo recommendation is too light, and would result in a tail heavy plane. I set mine up slightly nose heavy 55 mm back from the leading edge using a 3S 2200 mAh short pack shoved full forward. In the process I cut the JST connector off the ESC and soldered an XT60 connector in its place. Bench testing resulted in 171 watts per pound, so this plane will have plenty of excess power, as it would probably be able to do stunts nicely at 120 W/LB. I calculated 6 min flight time with this battery assuming landing at storage voltage and average current draw of 2/3 of its 22 amp max current as measured on the bench. I set my plane up with flaperons with a down elevator mix which I'll first test at high altitude. If resulting angle of attack looks good while plane slows, I'll land with flaperons on maiden, otherwise land without them, adjust mix and retry. I plan on this plane being strictly a street flyer to protect the retracts, and will maiden at mid rates with a full manual Rx (no SAFE). With my setup, elevator flare response will help me decide if I need to rake the retracts forward to prevent tipping on its nose. I have high hopes for this plane and bought it in part due to the high quality and continued trouble-free flying of my Skynetic Tempest. The Avenger is expensive for the size of the plane, but the retracts, turret, and fact that no one else offers this airframe prompted me to roll the dice.”
“An Absolute Gem of a Warbird!
I’ve built and flown this Avenger, and I can say without hesitation that Skynetic knocked it out of the park. For a compact 850mm foam warbird, this plane punches way above its weight class in every category that matters.
The ball-link control connections give the surfaces a crisp, slop-free feel you would expect from a much more expensive build. In the air, this plane is an absolute joy to fly. It’s fast, nimble and incredibly responsive, and it is easier to fly than any other plane I own, including my larger planes. It is smooth and predictable on approach, and lively and energetic when you want it to be. It is simply that well-balanced.
I did see the review mentioning issues with the retractable landing gear. I can only speak for myself, and mine have been perfect.
Overall value is exceptional. Retracts, ball links, a stunning scale finish, and effortless flight manners in a compact, easy-to-transport package. If you’re on the fence, stop hesitating. This Avenger is the real deal!”
“This warbird flys awesome. I was able to fit a gyro in it but it's a very tight squeeze. I Only have about 6 flights in, hopefully the landing gear holds up. I feel it flys best on a 1300mah in my opinion.”
“Great scale aircraft. Flys well with good manners and response. I cannot in good faith give the whole package a positive review due to the landing gear. On my plane and a friend's plane the landing gear twisted and turned in the retracts. When inspected off the aircraft the 2 set screws that were meant to hold the landing from twisting were loose. I was able to tighten my set screws, but my friend could not since his appeared to be stripped out. Overall, I give the plane 5 stars but only 2 for the retracts.”
