I needed a new part for my M-113, after my model fell onto the floor! The Y-shaped mount for the Commander's .50 MG, (the part in the image w arrow), was, amazingly the one and only part that broke. I imagined trying to fabricate one from scratch, or using bent wire, etc. and none of the options were good. But the model just wasn't "right" without the .50 cal there. So that's how I bought the whole parts tree to get one part. The old part had not broken off cleanly, so attaching the replacement part was not simple. The way it was broken meant i had to drill two new holes exactly right, which I did, before carefully attaching the Y-mount with JB Weld. I felt lucky that TongDe even sells the parts tree AT ALL (since it surely requires a bit of extra work for them, which they don't have to do!) So that's why I think the possible reason they make the parts tree available, is not just for profit but at least partly, as a favor to their customers. And that's some fantastic customer service if you ask me!

It's the same parts tree you get when you buy the whole model. But my M-113 fell off a table and broke off the .50 cal mount! Buying the whole parts tree was the only way to get the part to fix it, so, my review is, that I am very grateful the parts tree was even available! My final paint will be solid desert yellow. No camo pattern, just desert yellow, and weathering the finish with pin washes, color gradients and so on. It's a good solid model that will be getting lots of paint and detailling before i'm done with it.
