“My transfer from my hotel to the airport for an international flight was a huge fail!!!
I had confirmed my departure information with Mr. Tripp several days in advance. I even reconfirmed I was to be picked up at 10AM and NOT 10PM.
I was outside the entrance to my hotel at 9:45AM as I did not want anyone waiting for me. Bucharest traffic is also a nightmare of gigantic proportions.
At 10:15AM no one had showed up so I texted Mr. Tripp to which I had a very quick response. I contacted them again at 10:38AM. My car with a most professional looking driver appeared at 10:40AM.
At the onset he explained they had a pickup time of 10PM (which I had feared in the beginning). The driver said he was sent from the office last minute for an emergency pickup. Mr. Tripp stated they had passed on the correct timing. Who knows?
So much for a relaxing time in the airport and breakfast. The airport was as packed as the streets outside it.
My flight departure time was 1:05PM July 10/19. The time I sat finally buckled in my seat 12:47PM. Way too close for comfort.
In the end, Mr. Tripp was very prompt to refund the cost of the transfer for which I had paid. They also offered an apology and asked me to keep them abreast of my progress. I knew I was very close to missing one of two flights outbound.
To tip it all off as I waited outside for my fare a pigeon flew by narrowly missing me but getting my cell phone screen as I waited in the heat. Creme de la creme!!.
