I grew an MSNL Gelato clone given to me by a friend of a friend. Clones make great gifts. Grown outdoors in eastern Massachusetts, USA. The clone was a little anemic-looking when I got it in June, but came alive with the help of some kelp meal, chicken manure, compost, and mycorrhizal inoculant. 10 gallon cloth pot. The growth habit was very open, allowing for good light penetration and air circulation. Once in flower, this plant stretched like crazy. I harvested a little too early (Sept 29th), since I noticed a little bud rot, and we were leaving the country for a week. The buds were on the small side, but nice and frosty. Decent yield. Despite the open growth habit, this strain does seem to be fairly vulnerable to bud rot. I've grown strains that were more vulnerable to rot though. The Gelato did seem to have more trouble with rot than the Girl Scout Cookies, Gorilla Glue or Purple Pineberry (MSNL seeds) growing alongside it. But it had less trouble with rot than a Purple Sponge (from a different seed company). Anyway, it's VERY damp here in September. Cured buds for 2 weeks. Not the smoothest or clearest high: for me a little like being hit in the head with a frying pan. I had expected a speedier high, having harvested on the early side, but if anything, I found it more couch-locky than the other strains from MSNL that I grew this year. We'll see if the character changes at all with longer curing. Maybe not my favorite MSNL strain, but the potency is there.

8 weeks of flower for 3 MSNL Gelato plants....2 phenos are the same, and they look identical as the MSNL Gelato pic in the info section for Gelato......Those 2 are nearly ready...Gonna pick them at 8.5 weeks....one of those 2 gets tops probably 60% bigger than the other.....My 3rd plant is a completely different phenotype...It is still throwing fresh pistils at 8 weeks, but only on the top 4-5 inches on the main tops....Experience tells me, this plant will take 10 weeks to finish....It HAS FAT TOPS...Largest of all 3 plants....Cut off a sample bud from one of the earlier plants getting picked in few more days...Smells heavenly upon removing it from the plant....My 2 plants with larger buds are going to yield very well....Buds are LONG, THICK, DENSE as rocks, and caked with trichome goodness...That equals WEIGHT!!!....THERE IS NO REASON, these wont smoke exactly as described....Looking forward to that in about 3 days (sample will be dry enuf to smoke)...Thanks AGAIN MSNL for the amazing genetics!!!!....Steve

Straightforward pretty easily grown light maintenance just some popping and twisting and light defoliation. Grows well in both hydroponic and organic soil. Organic soil bringing out way more flavors and trichome covered buds, sugar lease and patioles on some fan leafs. Hydroponically grows fast and huge astronomical yield off of four plants with 3weeks of veg, & 9-week flower, taste and looks comparable to an average flowers but cannot rival the organically grown flavors but can yield twice as much hydroponically and faster. My only place for shopping for unbelievable genetics MSNL thanks again!

Grew in ground in northeast USA covered by greenhouse. From everything I read on strain height was mid range, well the conditions where I live and soil were great for this strain. They grew to over 13 feet tall, even after topping twice, had to raise the greenhouse. Very good yield for only our 2nd outdoor season growing

I found two awesome phenotypes one that turns purple the last weeks of flower and another that has a very subtle Lemon Haze type of taste & is a real creeper!! All other seeds grew into very nice plants and very nice smoke but the two I decided to keep are very fine specimens & worthy of reversing!
