“Since using Muck Munchers our tank looks after itself, we have only had to have it emptied once in 6 years and that was due to a failed pump. The delightful aroma we used to get has also gone. If you have a septic tank I would recommend Muck Munchers.”

“I have been using MM for about 10 years. To begin with they did an excellent job keeping the flow to our septic tank running. Things have gone badly wrong since we installed a water softener. The brine was put down our drain to the septic tank. It cause great problems with the soakaway forming a hard crust. We have had to have two more soakaways dug and the brine diverted away. MM still not working as they did at first. Don't know why not.”

The problem you experienced is ' Sodium Binding' where the salt effectively inhibits soakaway drainage. It is common, but not universal, with septic tank owners using salt-based water softeners.
