“This is my first time growing mushrooms at home. I’m trying to grow some portobello mushrooms and followed the instructions to the letter. 91% alcohol, sterilized needle , alcohol swabs, mask, gloves, etc. watched the video 3 times prior to inocculating the bag to ensure I had the instructions down. Well… I’m just now seeing mycelium 3 weeks later and only on the very bottom. The micro filter was worn and appeared to be rubbed off so I’m not sure if it is contaminated or just a super slow growing species. I have the bag in a my large closet at 78 degrees with a sun lamp coming on for 6 hours once a day. I’ll see how they turn out but i am not super impressed but again it was my first time.”
