“I know the genetics are critical, but I’ve bought spores and liquid cultures from many vendors, and I’m not having any luck getting them to fruit. I’ve already purchased over 15 bags, and I had some contamination issues on some, but mostly they aren’t fruiting. I’ve done all my research on humidity, moisture, lighting, and temp to help them fruit. I also listened to one of your podcasts about cutting a slit 1 inch above the substrate to help get oxygen exchange. I also put a piece of micropore tape to help prevent contamination. All that seems to have done is reducing the moisture in the bag, and it’s still not fruiting. I have also heard some contradiction on when to shake the bag. Your online media says to do the bag shake at 10-20% colonized, but the bag it comes in says 50%. I think that 10-20% has caused the mycelium to colonize unevenly. Any advice would be appreciated, as I’ve grown frustrated with my poor results.”
