I also was not aware of the warning about sensitivity to the sun when using this product. I have only used the serum and not the oil. I’ll certainly share this with our team. While our skincare is formulated with naturally derived ingredients suitable for nearly all skin types, given what you’ve shared I do recommend pausing the use of this skincare. When it comes to Renew Resurfacing Night Serum, we recommend applying twice a week to start, and building up to nightly application from there. In addition, as you mentioned, it is designed for nightly application, as it contains Alpha Hydroxy Acids, which can increase skin sensitivity in the sun. We also do not recommend applying Renew alongside retinol products, Vitamin C, or other active ingredients as this may cause irritation. If you’re looking for a more gentle option, you may like to try Illuminate BC+ Brightening Serum. This serum contains Vitamin C and Bakuchiol. Both of these ingredients are known to reduce the appearance of dark spots, minimize visible wrinkles, and help visibly brighten skin. In an independent clinical study, Illuminate users showed a decrease in the look of dark spots and fine lines, an increase in hydration, and improvement in visible brightness.
