“They give you a guide so that can be a damper if you like to be the driver. The lower is slow so only take it if you have little ones or really old ones.”

“Kind of a last minute decision to go rafting bit we purchased our tickets at NOC in Gatlinburg for same day trip down the lower pigeon. Our 5yr old loved it as much as we did.... probably a bit more. They valued safety with a pretty thorough safety talk. we had the 4 of us and a guide. Cat was great, recent graduate in bio studies from Geneva College. I believe she said she has been guiding for 5 yrs. She was a lot of fun. Pick out a good water gun for river battles! Ours sucked. Give your kids a chance to paddle. We only lost one paddle, but were able to retrieve it easily. Even with low water conditions, the river moved fantastically. For 3 adults and 1 child it was about 114 and the trio lasted about 2hrs on the river.”

“We did the Lower Pigeon float trip as our youngest daughter at six isn't old enough to do a full rafting trip. It was perfect for us. Lots of gentle drifting, a few bumpy spots to keep us all entertained, two swim stops, an impromptu stone skimming lesson, great guides, cool, clean facilities. Clean, safe, professional and great fun. If there was a negative it would be that the route takes you close to traffic noise at a few spots but otherwise you're paddling through the smokey mountains only interrupted by the dragonflies. Badger was a hugely fun, knowledgable and confident guide. Perfect introduction to white water.”

“We loved this trip. It was perfect for smaller kids (allows ages 3 and up) but still exciting for everyone. All of The guides were great and it was so fun to have a photographer getting photos of this special time. Our guide David was great! We will be back.”

“Our kids had a blast today!! Request Sam as your guide, he is awsome with kids. We chose the lower pigeon for our kids aged 7, 11 and 12. We were not sure how they would do. They loved it and want to try the upper pigeon.”

“Had an amazing time on the lower Pigeon! We had 14 in our group and in two rafts. Johnny and Nicole were our guides and rocked it. Amazing views, fun times and great laughs. We will be back!”

“NOC is awesome and top notch. We experienced the lower Pigeon River last year with them and decided to go back again this year. We were not disappointed. Our guide last year, Sarah, was awesome and our guide this year, Chelsea, was fabulous too. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely use NOC in the future and highly recommend them to anyone.”
