“You need this kit to connect to your Kohler generator wirelessly. I first tried a wireless extender at the generator but the WiFi signal couldn't get through the generator enclosure. This kit uses a radio signal to get through the enclosure. The literature suggests a range up to 200 feet but I couldn't get it to work more than about 20 feet. So if you buy this kit, I would plan on the signal getting into the first room closest to the generator but no further. The kit is good/OK for $200 with shipping and tax, but I regret simply running an ethernet cable from the generator into the closest room, and connecting the ethernet cable into a basic Wifi externder in that room...that would have saved me about $150 and a lot of time troubleshooting the max distance of this kit.”
