“Did lots of research after my previous underperforming fold out solar blankets failed after a short time. Both were supposedly good manufacturers brands.
I purchased the Allspark 200w quad fold panels and these have performed brilliantly for the past years trips.
Not perfect conditions (hot and lower winter sun in northern smoky skies) but regularly got measured 170w output from the 200w panels from a recent trip to the NT and Kimberley. This is excellent output considering the solar and heat conditions.
Another good point with these panels is they are fairly rigid and have a good set of fold out legs.
Lighter fold out blankets often get blown over in WA winds if they are not pegged down. Never had the Allspark 200w panels blow over in the wind (I could peg them down if needed).
I recommend them to anyone that does not have the room/weight for portable glass panels - an excellent product.”
“Went in to buy the 400 watt panel but found it too high for the winds we get on the south coast.
Saw the 200 watt panels and decided to buy two of those because they could be hooked up in sequence to my caravan and were only 450 high. Sure enough as soon as I plugged in I was getting 20 or more amps and batteries were up to 100% in no time. Love the quality as well and the fact that I can just put a couple of tent pegs to keep them in position.”
