“Ahh, even though I had a reply saying 'that's very odd' there is no question that the ball joints sent from onlineautoparts are oversize - as witnessed by the salesperson at Repco who sold me a standard ball joint which I subsequently was able to fit. The difference was easily discerned with vernier calipers. Apparently the oversize parts ARE standard replacements, but they need a special hydraulic press for insertion, and the part can't be replaced without removing the whole strut assembly. The correct non-oversize part is 'Global' GBJ2224. I was offered a refund if I posted them back, but it's hardly worth it with the postage etc. Perhaps I could get some sort of discount for my next purchase? Cheers”
