OCUNOX eye ointment acts as a protective barrier for the ocular surface including the cornea and conjunctiva and is recommended for severe cases of dry eye and lagopthalmos (incomplete eyelid closure). What Makes OCUNOX So Effective? OCUNOX has a very smooth texture which gently moisturizes your eyes and forms a barrier, locking in your tear film onto the surface of your eye. It effectively prevents tears from evaporating off your corneal surface while you sleep. It also increasing the lubricity of the eye surface with your eyelids to allow for smooth and painless blinking with reduced foreign body sensation. Preservative Free Phosphate Free Contains Vitamin A to improve tolerance to the ointment for sensitive eyes The fact that OCUNOX is preservative and phosphate free is particularly important as some individuals with sensitive eyes may experience side effects of preservatives including increased burning, irritation, inflammation, and possible allergic reactions. As OCUNOX is used overnight it greatly beneficial that it contains the minimal amount of potential eye irritating ingredients. OCUNOX ointment can be used safely for 6 months after opening.
