I am unable to review the Blanket as I have not yet received it so the only option is to minimum score. The Royal Mail tracking apologised for the delay and said it would be delivered on Thursday 3/10. It then updated to say that the item had been sent to Edinburgh depot and would be delivered on Saturday 5/10 No delivery has been made yet and the latest information indicates that it is at the Edinburg depot but no delivery time is indicated on the tracking system. No attempt to deliver has ever been made. Hapy to review the item once I have received it

Excellent piece of kit used it on a recent trip to Austria. Big enough to wrap around and use as both an added insulating layer underneath and also over the top of my sleeping bag

I already had the standard sized Jungle Blanket which has proved excellent with good warmth to weight ratio for a synthetic product. Purchased the XL for those occasions when weight or packing size is less critical and the extra size would be handy. It retains the same performance and seems much bigger than the difference in measurements would suggest, basically slightly larger than a double duvet. Very versatile and invaluable when conditions require relatively light insulation or for boosting insulation of other systems in really cold conditions. Very pleased I decided to add the XL size to my options.

As a teen straying from the nest I consulted guidebooks to hostelling, hiking, camping, rough stuff fellowship cycling, and random adventure making. One had to use wool, cotton, gaberdine, moleskin, exotic foreign suggestions and all heavy well tried materials. Now retired I checked again the Know the Game advice of my youth..leather, dubbin, and so on, and everything is polyester! The Brendan Voyage took along new materials like proofed nylon and so on but in the harshness of an arctic voyage in a leather boat they found they were useless to dangerous to use and settled back into leather, wool, cotton and tallow for something or other. So this blanket has a lot to improve upon and, yes, it seems it has. Even more radical materials that stretch and are waterproof seem set to get tried out at least, but beware, the layered advice of my youth based on several skins above your own which kept air in the mix seems still to be necessary and this product offers that but to a point. But keep away from arctic conditions even with this jungle formulation until you know better than this!It is OK to be cold, tired or hungry but make sure you are never all three at the same time. This needs careful thought. I am today an armchair adventurer for which this jungle blanket hits the right note within the envelope I maintain for comfort and so on.

Packs down nice and small in its stuff sack, is pretty lightweight and thin but surprisingly warm. I haven't used it for outdoors use yet, we're still in the last throes of winter, but will be a useful take anywhere blanket for outdoor or indoor use. Fits into its stuff sack very well, so no forcing it in and will compress down very small if required but is fine left lightly compressed as not to overstress the bag needlessly. Quality is very good, especially so when you consider the price.
