“I inherited an old Savage Arms pump action 22 caliber rifle- made circa 1924. Cleaned it and checked all the parts for wear. It has "S. L. & L.R." engraved on the barrel. I learned that these are three different 22 caliber sizes...Short, Long and Long Rifle. Tried shooting the Shorts and the LR's- both high velocity and standard velocity. The gun either misfired or failed to eject the casing all too many times. A friend recommended these Longs by CCI. Hard to find ammo. Wow! Problems fixed. Gun loves it ! Hard to find ammo.
