“Since arthritis in my thumbs has made it difficult to rack the slide on a semi-auto pistol, or load mags, I went back to my roots and started carrying a 5 shot snubbie. Here in NJ, I can't legally carry hollow point ammo. The Hornady FTX round is on par with HPs, and maybe even a little better. I like the 110gr. +P. It's zippy, and recoil in a Ruger SP101 is very manageable. For up-close and personal self-defense I think its as good as it gets. I used one to dispatch an injured, 50lb. pig at a friend's farm, aiming from above, between the shoulder blades. It did the job, and the recovered round performed exactly as it was supposed to.”
