Tula 38 Special Ammunition TA038158 130 Grain Full Metal Jacket Case of 1000 Rounds - Free Shipping with Buyer's Club! Reviews

3.9 Rating 18 Reviews
Ammo is what one would expect for $10 a box. However at $15+ a box it does not make the cut. But since .38 Spl has disappeared off the market I bought it knowing that it would stick in the cylinders of on revolver. But a #2 Pencil unsharpened easily pushed them out. For range ammo it is OK and has lots of bang for the Buck.

I saw some reviews that said this stuff was a little smokey and just a couple reviews that said it sometimes sticks a little when ejecting from the cylinder. I tried the ammo in 2 different guns - a 686+ and a smith model 15. In both guns the empty casings stick so badly that my wife who is an avid shooter cannot press the rounds out even using 2 hands. As a big guy cannot eject these casings without giving a little push of the eject bar on the wood shooting bench. The rounds all went bang and accuracy was surprisingly good hence 2 stars instead of 1. I will shoot these up over time but have already ordered 1000 brass cased 38's to use as my and my wifes standard practice rounds. I wanted to leave this long review so people know how "sticky" these empty casings really are. I did not notice the smokey issues others commented on but the sticky issue will keep me from ever buying these again.

The casings expand so much I have to force the spent rounds out of the cylinder by tapping the extraction rod. The gun is a S&W revolver with a 4" barrel.
