“I've got a Canik TP9SFx and purchased this ammunition because it was priced so well. I'd also never tried NATO spec ammunition and liked the idea of it being more water/dust resistance and tightly sealed.
The ammunition was packaged very well, in tightly sealed, thick green plastic bags, and in boxes of 50. Some of the individual rounds had a green tinge in the primer area (not sure what this is), but overall the ammunition was surprisingly clean.
As I said above, I haven't tried NATO spec 9mm before, but the copper jacket on each round looked slightly different than the normal 9mm Luger; it seemed to be pointier than normal.
I had significant issues with failure to feed; through all 1,000 rounds I ordered, at least two or three rounds per magazine nosedived and got stuck on the bottom of the feed ramp, causing indentations in the copper jackets. This is the only ammunition I've had issues with, but I've never tried any other NATO spec 9mm so I'm not sure what exactly the issue is. My mags have no issues with other ammunition; I'm convinced it's the individual 9mm rounds that are shaped differently that makes them more prone to hit the bottom of the feed ramp. NATO spec ammunition is supposed to cause higher chamber pressure, so maybe the slide cycled faster than normal and caused some rounds to hit the feed ramp, but I'm not sure.
That said, I also had two or three rounds failure to fire; for two or three rounds out of a thousand, it wasn't much of an issue, and all fired on second strike. You decide if that's good enough for you. The primer seemed not to ignite; they were clearly struck by the firing pin, in the center of each primer.
Overall, would not purchase again due to significant failure to feed issues. Although the price may be tempting, and NATO spec appealing, I'll be using different ammunition from now on. Yavex NATO spec 9mm just didn't feed well in my Canik TP9SFx.”
“Outstanding ammo. It has brass casings and comes with a sealed primer. I fired this ammo in 7 different pistols without any problems and with very good grouping”
“Was a little worried about NATO surplus ammo, but it has proven pretty good. Loaded on the strong side, but seems to be pretty clean. No FTEs, No FTFs after 200 rounds. Good range ammo for plinking and not interested in trying to do more with it.”
