The magnetic fastener means the band can be quickly adjusted to any position even without looking. I find this to be an important feature as my wrist tends to slim down or thicken up depending on the weather, time of day or activity. I have found that fixed position bands can become irritatingly tight, or loose causing the watch to slip around my wrist.
