“For cold and wet days in the saddle. Fit was very comfortable as well as climate, felt reasonably breathable. So far I've only ridden it in 45deg and rain but it seemed like it would be comfortable down into the snow zone. I very functional winter jacket.”

“This coat has the material that is used in the winter base layers, which makes a huge difference for worth below 55F on long right. New zippers are an improvement as is the vent at the top of the back.”

“I'm 5'9" and 152 lbs. I ride twice a week throughout the year. I bought this jacket for it's wind and cold protection. I wore it for the first time with the temperatures starting out in the low 40's and 8mph winds. I had a Merino wool base layer under the jacket. The jacket performed and fit well. I bought the large to accommodate the use of a jersey for colder days and because I don't like form fitting gear. I would recommend.”

“I wear the Vertex jacket with just the thermo regulator long sleeve shirt and I stay fairly warm on very cold days. I’m five foot ten inches, 160 pounds and I wear the large jacket with a large thermo regulator long sleeve shirt.”

“I've been using the jacket a bit over two months and I impressed with it. This includes riding during the recent polar vortex. I generally ride with a wool base layer, then the jacket. It's comfortable and it keeps you warm. What I really like are the side zippers that open up while climbing, there's also a rear vent which helps disapate the heat. It's one thing keeping a rider warm while climbing, not that big of a deal. Descending, however, is a different matter. This jacket will keep you warm on fast descenrs, this is a major plus. Descending in the winter was always torture, now it's not so bad. The only nit that I have is the zipper, which is heavy duty. It's hard to open up the zipper, especially with gloved hands. A long zipper pull would be most handy.”
