It was delivered to my area by Friday and then transfered from UPS to the USPS for local delivery. This extra unnecessary step took five days from that Friday to the following Wednesday.
Here is how I think you can still save money with this method at the same time reduce the waiters anxiety fall out and subsequent negative reviews.
Offer a pickup at the UPS hub or wait for USPS is one way and I'd include a clear explanation of how this "free" shipping is to take place. With an actual delivery date and comparison of arrival n cost before people finalize their order.
