“Mints good, shrinkflation bad. Last year Peppersmith replaced Mighty Box with Mighty Pouch, still with 100 mints but with an increase of 25p per pouch of 100. Ok, price increases are unwelcome but understandable if not too much too often. This year the price of a Mighty Pouch is the same, but Peppersmith have reduced its contents from 100 mints to 85: that is equivalent to a price increase of over 17.6%. To a customer, what has become called shrinkflation is almost insulting, because it feels as though the seller is trying to pull a fast one, typically keeping the look and even the size of the pack the same but with reduced content. We notice. It's not a good look.”

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review about our new packaging changes,🙏🤔 these changes did not come lightly and there was lots of discussion as a team as to how we could combat upcoming packaging price increases along with the sustainability of our original biodegradable pouches.😊
Our Mighty Pouch range went through a slight packaging change in June this was to standardize the range so that all products were in 50-gram packaging. This was due to a number of reasons which included but are not limited to the following: Our previous pouches were in biodegradable packaging which a lot of our customers were finding hard to dispose of, as they either didn't have their own compost or local composting facilities and then we were also started to realise that some local councils don't accept biodegradable packaging in their food waste,😢 so the move to our new recyclable packaging was made. 🥳
At the same time, we decided to smarten up and standardize the range, so all the products are now all the same size (as before we had 2 sizes the mints were in 60-gram pouches, and the gums were in 50-gram pouches). This also helped with packaging runs and turnaround time to make sure our customers didn't go without our minty delights. Alongside the Mighty range we launched our new MEGA range - These are 300-gram bags which allows for maximum amount of product at the best value. 🎉🥳
