“It's a very good idea to have it dog friendly as they need the punters in all weathers. A lot of money was spent at one time, but it needs a lot of money soon as the hotel is a bit sad. A seesaw because having so many dogs does add wear and tare.”

“We enjoyed our stay. All staff very attentive. Great food. Decor bit tired in places. We were looking forward to sitting next to the log fire but it wasn’t put on. It wasn’t particularly cold but the rain had been horrendous and so a cosy fire would have cheered things up immensely. It was February.”

“Had a lovely stay.Great room.Lighting in bed room very dim.Really good breakfast dinner slightly below par.Same menu for our 3 night stay small selection on desert menu.”

“The hotel was very dog friendly with dogs allowed in all areas. The grounds were lovely and our downstairs room had a patio. Unfortunately Storm Isobel meant there was a flood risk but thankfully the room was easily large enough for us and 2 dogs . The meal in their restaurant was fantastic and the breakfast buffet was fresh and tasty too. Breakfast was our dogs first experience of a hotel meal and they coped well.”

“From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and cared for. Everyone was so friendly and our dog was immediately pampered. Our room was lovely, the food was great, both dinner in the dining room in the evening and the excellent breakfast each morning. The location is great for walks and the designated dog exercise area is great for short walks. If you want a stay in a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere with your dog, this is the place for you.”

“I cannot recommend this hotel enough. All the staff without exception were so professional cheerful and polite. The rooms were just right clean comfortable and perfect to bring our 2 springer spaniels too. The food was very good and the evening meal was exceptional. The grounds are stunning again perfect for our dogs. We will definitely be returning and have told all of our friends with dogs to go. Thankyou Bet Tony Ethel and Spencer”

“We were very impressed with the hotel from start to finish. We were welcomed and given all the information for ourselves and molly our cockatoo. The room was adequate, clean and had all we needed. The restaurant served us lovely meals the only thing we would say was we would have liked slightly more choice on the menu but we enjoyed what we had. Breakfast was good plenty of choice. Overall the staff were attentive and friendly. We would recommend to others”
