Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Will treat Pets Pyjamas recommendations with caution in future 😩
“The Wood Norton is not dog friendly, there are no water bowls anywhere, no dog treats, blankets or towels provided. The hotel website actually says "No pets allowed", also the info sheet given at registration requests you pooh pick (which we always do), but there are no Pooh bins provided and in fact no sign of any bins anywhere. In the room you are asked to not allow the your dogs on the bed and use the dog bed provided, which wasn't provided!! On a separate note, the hotel is well sited but the menu is limited and very expensive, the £30 sirloin steak comes without any vegetables which have to purchased separately at £5.50 each and a thimble full of pepper sauce will set you back another £4. The receptionist was surly and unhelpful, not impressed and won't return. Do Pets Pyjamas actually visit the hotels they recommend?”

Dear Mr Oliver, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your stay at The Wood Norton. We’re very sorry to read that your experience did not meet expectations, particularly regarding the dog-friendly facilities. The points you’ve raised about the lack of water bowls, treats, bins and the missing dog bed are clearly disappointing, especially when travelling with your dog. We appreciate how important these details are in creating a genuinely pet-friendly stay. We are also concerned to hear your comments about the information provided at check-in and the inconsistencies you mention. We will be raising these directly with the hotel to clarify their pet policy and ensure that what is communicated to our guests is accurate and reflective of the on-property experience. Your feedback regarding the restaurant pricing, menu and service has also been noted and will be shared with the hotel management team. We do work closely with our hotel partners and maintain regular contact with them, however, guest feedback such as yours is invaluable in helping us monitor standards and address any areas that may fall short. Please be assured your comments will be taken seriously. We’re sorry that this stay has left you feeling disappointed and hope we may have the opportunity to restore your confidence in us in the future. Kind regards PetsPyjamas

“We had a super 4 night break at the Wood Norton hotel with our 2 dogs. Our room was very big, all the staff were very friendly and service was great. Lovely breakfast each morning and the two dinners we had on those occasions were delicious.. would definitely visit again. Some great walking close by.”

“The food was amazing & the staff couldn’t have been better. The hotel was not dog friendly, it was dog tolerant. Dogs are only allowed in the room and the bar, nowhere else. We were on the 3rd floor which meant we had a way to go every time he needed to toilet. We was told he was only allowed to use the bed provided (not on our bed which is understandable) however, no bed was provided. Only being allowed in the bar meant we wasn’t allowed to eat in the restaurant. For breakfast we had to keep going back and forth from the bar to the restaurant every time we wanted a drink or food. Lastly there was no mini fridge in the room so we had to ask the staff to keep our dogs food in the kitchen fridge and we had to go and get it every time he needed feeding. Completely understand not everyone wants dogs around but it just made our stay more hassle and I wouldn’t go back with a dog. The hotel could also use some tlc, a lot of the paint work needed doing.”
